Energy

A key sector for the future of industry

The control of energy resources is present at all levels of industrial production, whether as a primary resource of production sites, or as a sector for application (gas power stations, nuclear power stations, renewables (wind, solar...).

Round-up of the market

Between 1973 and the end of the 1980s, the price increases caused by the energy crises led to rethinking energy strategies, encouraging the control of consumption and the adoption of other energy sources.

As a consequence the implementation of the nuclear programme made it possible to substantially increase national primary energy production, which rose from 44 Gtoe* in 1973 to 138 Gtoe in 2008, before decreasing to 130 Gtoe in 2009.

* billion tonnes of  oil equivalent

Nuclear production has increased from 4 Gtoe to 115 Gtoe, while the extraction of hydrocarbons (natural gas, petrol) continued its decline and coal mining definitively stopped in April 2004. Renewable energies stagnated for a long time before undergoing significant development over the last few years.

France is rich in renewable energy resources; it has the largest forest surface area in Western Europe and a high potential for hydraulic, wind and geothermal energy. In 2009 France was the second producer and the second consumer of renewables in Europe.

The commitment of the Three 20s by 2020 :

  • 20 % of renewables,
  • 20 % less greenhouse gases,
  • 20 % more energy efficiency,
  • 10 % of biofuels

Not to miss in the trade fair

The energy sector is constantly changing and needs ever more technical equipment in order to achieve gains in productivity. INDUSTRIE gathers together the suppliers of these tools and, for the 2012 edition, places this sector at the heart of a system making it possible for you to discover every facet.

INDUSTRIE 2020

The industry of the future!  Industrie 2020 will introduce a brand new process in the field of surface treatment! CERIMAT presents an anti magnetic treatment that can have applications in the energy sector

Nuclear Village

Organised by the Pôle Nucléaire Bourgogne, a competitiveness centre with a worldwide vocation. With the active participation of AREVA, EDF, it brings together many suppliers and partners of the nuclear sector who exhibit their know-how specific to this sector. A programme of mini technical conferences accompanies the Village.

The conferences

"Yes they are turning!" : focus on two fast growing technologies: offshore wind farms and gas and steam turbines"

Tuesday March 27th: Conference on the theme of energy, organised and chaired by Enerpresse on the theme

The Industry Observatory

For the fist time a large scale survey carried out on a qualified target at the heart of factories will reveal the trends in the different markets and in particular the energy market.

the Energy sector trail

For the first time at INDUSTRIE Paris, themed paths will guide you through the 70,000 m² of the venue. Follow the "Energy" sector trail to discover the companies exhibiting equipment and services designed for the energy industry and its equipment providers.

Discover too...

The Innovation Trophies

The Innovation Trophies are intended to reward exhibitor know-how and expertise. This presentation of companies that innovate together with their new products will enable industrials to discover the latest technological progress and monitor technology.

The Machine in action sector trail

What is one of the major motivations of visitors to an industrial trade fair? To witness machines working under operating conditions: INDUSTRIE proposes a dedicated sector trail that will help you discover machines operating under production conditions. Along this route you will see the different applications offered by the exhibitors and may imagine solutions adapted to your business

The robotics event

Robots interacting with people! Collaboration between man and machines is one of the major stakes of modern industry. At the two SOUTH entrances to the trade fair discover how this technological evolution is possible!

Training

French industry has a real need in terms of training and recruitment: we can help you in this field. Schools of Engineering, Compagnons du Devoir... INDUSTRIE brings together all the actors in a single place, thus helping you to satisfy your needs in this respect.
